It is an unusual methodology that offers integrated single sign-on (SSO) for applications at the federal and state levels using a SAML 2.0 framework. With additional capabilities like adjustable linkage of verification components, web-site verification, Aadhaar-based user identity verification, and PAN-based identity verification, e-Pramaan supports multi-factor authentication employing (password, OTP, digital certificate, and biometrics).

e-Pramaan intends to combine various identity documents from different government agencies, such as a driver’s license, PAN, voter identification, etc., under one digital profile. This will enable the departments to gain higher levels of trust to provide legitimate consumers with increasingly sensitive data services. The Single Sign-On feature let registered users access all government services in a single window, reducing the time and effort required to manage multiple usernames and passwords.
