Matri Pitri Vandana is an initiative of Assam state Government to provide special casual leave to the regular employees of state government for spending quality time with their own parents or parents-in-law. The aim of this initiative is to offer ample family time to the employees so that they stay motivated to work better.

- The scheme was launched in December 2021 by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
- The important feature of this project is to provide special leave to state government regular employees to spend time with their parents/in-laws.
- The leave will be a special casual leave of two days and it will counted excluding the total number of casual leave assigned to an employee.
- An employee has to apply for this leave in the Matri-Pitri Vandana web portal in prior to availing it.
- The employee under leave will have to upload photographs with parents/parents in-laws in the portal as a proof of being with them.
- The date of special leave is decided by government and declared beforehand.
- In case if the employee works under emergency services such as fire, police etc. he/ she can avail it at a later date if not availed earlier at the stipulated date.
Matri Pitri Vandana: How to apply?
Matri Pitri Vandana scheme can be accessed online through its web portal. A one time registration needs to be done for online application. For registration follow the simple steps:
- Click on Register” button in the Login area of the home page.
- This will direct you to a form which is to be filled up with all necessary credentials.
- Upon successful registaration, a pop up message will be displayed confirming the registration.
- .A passport size photograph and a Government approved identity card is needed to be uploaded in the registration process for Matri Pitri Vandana.
- It is important to note that the registration is a one time process. Once successfully registered, there is no need for re-registration in the next year.
Apply for leave under Matri Pitri Vandana portal:
To log in to the portal you need to enter your registered mobile number. You will receive an OTP in your mobile which should be entered in the area provided for successful log in process. Once you are logged in the dashboard for online application of leave will be displayed. The following details shall be furnished for online application:
- Personal details- name, age, gender, mobile number, ID proof, Address
- Employee details- department, service nature, designation, office address
- Leave details- number of days, purpose of leave
The applicant must download and take a print out of the online application form generated after successful submission and get it signed from the concerned higher authority in his/her respective office. After availing the leave, the employee must upload two copies of photograph with parents along with the signed application downloaded earlier for final approval of the leave.
