The Assam Government, with an aim to encourage the entrepreneurs of Assam, has launched the Mukhya Mantri Sva Niyojan Scheme 2023. This scheme will create a platform for the youths of BPL families and low income households by creating micro- entrepreneurs which will not only uplift the livelihood of this families but also will transform the job seekers to job creators in the field of trading, manufacture, service, food processing, handloom, handicrafts, agriculture and allied etc. Over a span of two years this scheme intends to cover over 2.00 lakhs youths of Assam.

Incentives under the Mukhya Mantri Sva Niyojan Scheme

• The beneficiaries under the Mukhya Mantri Sva Niyojan Scheme 2023 will be eligible for financial assistance of Rs 2 Lakhs/ 3 Lakhs/ 5 Lakhs which will be disbursed in two installments.
• The financial assistance under this scheme can be a mix of both Govt Grants and interest free loans from the nominated banks depending upon the eligibility amount.
• The selected beneficiaries will undergo a one month training by the Govt of Assam in selected Educational/Skill training institutes for the enhancement of entrepreneurship, management and accounting skills and during the training period an amount of Rs 10,000/- will be granted as stipend to the trainees.

Eligibility for the Mukhya Mantri Sva Niyojan Scheme

Age of Applicant : The age of the applicant should be in the range of 18 to 45 years.

Residential Criteria: The applicant should have to be a permanent resident of the state of Assam.

Education Qualification: The applicant should be minimum class 10 passed. Should also have the skills, knowledge, etc to undertake income generating activities (ITI, Diploma, etc).

Past Record: The applicant should not have defaulted in any loan that he or she has taken before applying in this scheme.

Family history: The applicant should not belong to a family of govt service holder/pensioners. Also only one family member from a particular family is eligible to apply for this scheme.

Registration: The applicant should have to be registered in the state Employment Exchange before 1st of April 2023.

• The Mukhya Mantri Sva Niyojan Scheme will benefit entrepreneurs belonging to economically weaker sections of the society.

• With its wide beneficiary coverage this scheme will boost economic growth in Assam.
• The scheme will target to promote multi-trading ideas in diverse fields which will encourage entrepreneurs from all fields to participate in the mission and avail its benefits.
• The scheme will not only provide incentive for entrepreneurship but also provide skill development training to train the youths prior to their business establishments. However, they will also be paid a stipend during the course of their training.

• The job seeking youth of Assam will now be job creators and this will rise the employment opportunities in the state.
