Teachers Award : Assam Government declares State Teachers’ Awardee list 2023, Shikshak Assam latest updates

Assam State Teachers Award is an initiative of Assam Government to honor the remarkable contributions of teacher in the course of their service to the society. The Assam government has also launched separate a web-portal named Shikshak Assam for this purpose. The awardees of Assam State Teachers Award are honored every year on the occasion of Teachers’ Day on 5th September.

Highlights of State Teachers Award:

Eligibility criteria:

• All permanent teachers employed under the Directorate of Secondary/Elementary Education, Secondary Contractual Teachers and Elementary level S.S.A Contractual/State Pool Teachers can apply.
• To be an awardee, the applicant must have 10 years of teaching experience.
• The teachers whose schools have secured C and D grades in Gunotsav cannot apply for the award.
• The concerned teacher should not have engaged himself/herself in private tuitions.
• The teacher should not have any sort of suspension history or disciplinary action records in his/her past or current service years.

The Secondary section holds 21 awardees, while the Upper Primary section holds 02 awardees and Lower Primary section holds 13 awardees for the year 2023.

How to apply for State Teachers Awards?

The teachers need to register and apply online to Shikshak portal (link given above) within given timeframe. Prior to 2021, these applications were submitted in offline mode and later in 2021, this portal was launched. The school level teachers -Lower Primary, Upper Primary and Secondary are eligible to apply for this award. The teachers need to follow certain guidelines while applying for the award. These are:

• The teachers need to register themselves first. After successful registration they can login with their registered mobile number and password.
• After logging in they need to enter their personal details such as name, address, mobile number, marital status, age etc on the interface.
• After filling up the application form the teachers need to answer certain questions online given in the format of a questionnaire. These questions are related to their service, experience, Gunotsav etc.
• The last step is to submit the application form and generate a registration number at the end of submission.

Documents required to apply for State Teachers Award: (to be uploaded in the portal)

The following documents are required to be uploaded wile filling up online application form in the portal:

• A digital (or scanned) photograph of the applicant (PNG file of size at most 200KB)
• A scanned copy of age proof document (HSLC Admit Card/ Birth Certificate) (PDF file of size at most 200KB)
• Scanned copy of Government appointment letter (PDF file of size at most 200KB)
• Scanned copy of document to be uploaded against questionnaire wherever applicable.( PDF file of size at most 2 MB)
• Some answers might require video links. Please upload the video in platforms such as Google drive or YouTube and keep the corresponding links ready.
• Photographic/Video evidence of Clean School Campus/Green School Campus.
• A scanned copy of Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar Certificate from the concerned authority (PDF file of size at most 200KB)
• A proof of Gunotsav Grade (PDF file of size at most 200KB)
