Atmanirbhar Pashu Palan Yojana ANPPY is a major scheme in Arunachal Pradesh related to animal husbandry, veterinary and dairy development. It is basically a credit based subsidy scheme of the Arunachal Pradesh Government to cater to the needs of those who rears cattle and earn a living. It was launched in the year 2021 and it is still an ongoing active scheme under the state government.

Objectives of Atmanirbhar Pashu Palan Yojana ANPPY:
The following are the listed objectives of the scheme:
- To augment the growth and productivity of livestock rearing.
- To provide financial support to the livestock farmers by lending credit based subsidy to them.
- To actively disburse loan amounts to beneficiaries.
- To provide proper reporting of loans to concerned banks and engage in follow up activities.
- To have proper background check of the applicants/ farmers so that the financial aid reaches to the actual needy beneficiaries.
- To focus on boost in productivity in case of three primary sectors- dairy, poultry and piggery.
- To look over concerns related to vaccination of livestock under FMD and brucellosis.
- To monitor diseases and its control among livestock in the state.
Incentives/subsidy under Atmanirbhar Pashu Palan Yojana ANPPY:
- Security free loan subsidy is provided up to Rs.1,60,000 for the purpose of establishing livestock unit.
- Security free loan subsidy is provided to Self Help Groups (SHGs) up to Rs. 10,00,000.
- On setting up of livestock units, 45% subsidy is provided by the State Government.
- The cost of one Pashu Palan Unit is provided at 45% subsidised rate by the Government.
- The beneficiary will have to incur only 10% of the unit cost.
Eligibility criteria for Atmanirbhar Pashu Palan Yojana ANPPY:
- The applicant must compulsorily be a permanent resident of Arunachal Pradesh
- The applicant must be a farmer or a farming organisation or belong to a Self Help Group.
- The applicant must apply the loan for purchasing Pashu Palan Units.
- The Units purchased/set up should be related to dairy, poultry or piggery.

The following is the list of necessary documents required for application under the scheme:
- Copy of ADHAAR card/PAN card/Voter ID
- Permanent Resident Certificate of Arunachal Pradesh or any other proof of permanent residence.
- Bank details- IFSC code/Account No./Branch Name
- Age proof of the beneficiary.
- Annual income details of the applicant
- Land ownership details
- Farming unit details whether piggery or dairy or poultry
- Passport size photograph
Budget allocation details for the year 2023-24:
The Atmanirbhar Pashu Palan Yojana ANPPY has been targeted to reach 1100 farmer beneficiaries for the year 2023-24. In this direction, an additional Rs. 3,000 lakh has been allocated for this scheme. In the year 2022-23 also, the Arunachal Pradesh Government had allocated the same amount for the said scheme.
