About Ziro valley, Arunachal Pradesh:
Ziro is a lovely plateau and the administrative center of the Lower Subansiri District (167 kilometers from Itanagar). It is regarded as one of Arunachal Pradesh’s earliest settlements .The elevation of this lovely hill town is 1500 meters. The region is characterized by an impressive panorama with lovely, thick forests, rivulets, and higher spots. It is well known for its paddy-cum-pisciculture farming. The region is well known for its terraced paddy fields, where the locals use a special polyculture and water management method. The settlement, which is primarily populated by members of the Apatani tribe, puts on a jubilant appearance during special occasions.
Reaching Ziro:
Ziro is accessible by every means of transport such as by air, by road or by train. For air travel, the passengers need to board a flight till Itanagar Airport and take a 3hour drive by road to reach Ziro. Those travelling by road need to reach Itanagar first and then continue their on-road journey. The most convenient means of travel is by train (Donyi-Polo Express) which can be boarded from Guwahati and it is a overnight journey up to Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh.
