Arunachal Mukhya Mantri Shramik Kalyan Yojana (MMSKY) 2023: New Scheme Alert! Good news for labourers!

Mukhya Mantri Shramik Kalyan Yojana (MMSKY) is a newly launched scheme by Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Shri Pema Khandu. It is introduced with a view to promote welfare among the labourers of the state. The scheme was introduced on 17 September, 2023. The main idea of the scheme is to provide financial relief to the workforce involved and registered under Arunachal Pradesh Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board (APBOCWWB).

  • The scheme is a labour welfare oriented scheme.
  • The scheme is aimed to provide financial support to the workforce engaged in construction and building related activities.
  • The financial support would be in the form of incentives or revised incentives from the existing structure of labour payments.
  • The scheme will also attempt to support sports talents from the labour force by providing them with incentives.
  • The beneficiaries under this scheme will be the registered workers under Arunachal Pradesh Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board (APBOCWWB).
  • The incentives under this scheme has been raised in accordance with Model Welfare Scheme issued by Ministry of Labour and Employment.
  • It will be based on a decentralised model, beginning at the district level to make it accessible for the workers.
  • There will be constant monitoring with District Commissioners as Chairpersons of the schemes in respective districts, so that no corruption activities take place in the name of the scheme.
  • The scheme also aims to ease the process of registration of workers and their renewal along with introduction of new registrations.

Arunachal Pradesh MMSKY Benefits:

The benefits under this scheme can be listed under the following categories:

  • Statutory Benefits : Death Benefit, Accidental Benefit, Education Scholarship, Medical Assistance etc. to the Registered Workers/Labour under the Board.
  • Life Insurance benefits: Free life insurance like PMJJBY, AABY, PMSBY (Accidental Life Insurance) to all the Registered Workers/Labourers Under Board.
  • Non Statutory benefits : Mosquito Net, Blanket, Gumboot, Solar Lamp, Rain Coat to all the Registered Workers/Labours under the Board.

Incentives under MMSKY:

The following are the details of incentives under this scheme:

  • Maternity benefits for worker’s families increased from Rs. 1,000 to Rs, 6,000.
  • Natural death compensation benefits increased from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 2,00,000.
  • Accidental death compensation increased from Rs. 1,00,000 to Rs. 4,00,000.
  • To identify and encourage sports talent among workers the scheme will also provide cash incentives for Gold, Silver and Bronze medal winners in State level sports event. For Gold medal winners, the cash incentive will be Rs. 15,000, for Silver medal winners the cash incentive will be Rs. 10,000 and for Bronze medal winners a cash incentive of Rs. 8,000 shall be provided.
  • There is also provision for providing cash incentives for national sports level talents which is Rs. 30,000 for Gold, Rs. 20,000 for Silver and Rs. 15,000 for Bronze.
