Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan 2025 is an ambitious scheme of introduced by Government of Assam to facilitate women entrepreneurship. The goal of the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyaan is to assist women who belong to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in becoming Rural Micro-Entrepreneurs or Lakhpati Baideu. This will enable them to generate at least Rs. 1 lakh per year through financial aid in the form of an Entrepreneurship Fund.

Women’s entrepreneurship has become one of the most powerful cornerstones of inclusive and sustainable growth in the quickly changing economy of today. In light of this, the government has started the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan , a flagship program aimed at empowering women via financial independence, self-reliance, and entrepreneurship.

Objectives of Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan 2025 :

  • Encourage women entrepreneurs by assisting them in starting businesses in a variety of industries, including retail, services, food processing, handicrafts, and fabric.
  • Providing women with simple access to credit, financial aid, and subsidies in order to lessen their reliance on unofficial borrowing is known as financial inclusion.
  • Skill Development: Providing programs for capacity-building and training to provide women the technical and managerial skills they need.
  • Self-Reliance: Assisting women in transitioning from wage dependence to self-employment, effectively transforming them from job searchers into job producers.
  • Local businesses and communities as a whole are strengthened when women are empowered, in addition to improving households.

Implementation of the Scheme:

In the first phase, the P&RD Department’s Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission will furnish all qualifying members of the SHGs with an Entrepreneurship Fund grant-in-aid of Rs. 10,000 per member. In due course of time, notifications will be sent out for the second and third phases.

Eligibility Criteria for Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan 2025

  • She needs to be actively involved in the SHGs that the ASRLM promotes.
  • She needs to have an Aadhaar-seeded savings bank account that is current and functioning. If not, she can open the account prior to submitting an application for the program.
  • She shouldn’t default on payments to the SHG she belongs to, federations, banks, financial institutions, etc. Prior to 2021, borrowers who obtained loans from microfinance institutions will not be considered in default.
  • Her activity or business should have a business plan.
  • She must independently engage in at least one source of revenue.
  • In the case of the General/OBC category, she should have no more than three children; in the case of the ST/SC/Tea Tribes/Moran & Matak category, she should have no more than four children.
  • If the SHG member currently has 0–2 children, she must submit a Sankalp Patra pledging to limit the number of children to two; if she is a member of the General/OBC category, she must submit three children; and if she is a member of the ST/SC/Moran/Matak/Tea Tribes community, she must submit four children.
  • In case if the SHG member has a school going girl child, she should get her child admitted in a school, if not already admitted. Additionally, she must sign the Sankalp Patra, promising to follow suit in the future.
  • During Amrit Brikshya Andolan, the SHG member must have planted a sapling, and it should be thriving. New saplings must be planted in their place if they do not survive, either during the form filing process or prior to the form being submitted.

Distribution of application forms for Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan 2025 (hard copy only) will take place in all districts of Assam in a seamless way via Gaon Panchayat offices. Additionally, an orientation programme on the procedure to fill up the form will also be conducted in various SHGs of Assam. After the distribution of forms, a verification and shortlisting procedure will be followed by the ASRLM Block, District and Regional offices.
