Swasthya Sewa Abhiyan Assam is a health drive powered by National Health Mission, Assam which aims to bring health care services nearer to people. It was started as a pilot project on 25th August, 2022 for one month. The Swasthya Sewa Abhiyan is a special health program through setting up of special health camps in all districts of the state. Each district would identify a common plot, decided by district authorities, for setting up of the health camp and accordingly the camp used to take place.

On 23rd September, 2022, the State Health Minister of Assam Keshab Mahanta flagged off the Abhiyan in a full-fledged manner. The drive was first launched by organising a special health camp at Capital State Dispensary, Kamrup Metropolitan District.

Swasthya Sewa Abhiyan Assam objectives:

The following are the key objectives of the scheme:

• To make health care accessible to citizens.
• To provide specialised treatment under the direction of specialised doctors.
• To identify and prevent diseases such as dengue, malaria, conjunctivitis and spread awareness about them.
• The scheme is visioned to bring medical specialists, diagonostic tests, medical facilities especially for mother and new born children under one mobile roof.
• To spread awareness on nutrition, breast-feeding, immunization through Mission Indradhanush etc.
• To provide health care additional services for opthalmology, ENT, dental and dermatology issues.
